What is Ayurveda?

Ayu - Life, Veda - science

Ayurveda is the one of the oldest sciences of medicine existing on the planet.

Ayurvedic principles provide us with a holistic understanding of optimal nutrient uptake for the body - including not limited to the selection of right ingredients,  the apt method of cooking, suitable food combinations, best time of consumption and post digestive effects, which in turn have a long-lasting impact on our health.

Why is Ayurvedic Nutrition so important for children?

Taittarya upanishad talks about the Panchakosa theory of human soul which forms the basis of the five folded development of the children

These five layers around the human soul are:

The Annamoya Kosha (the physical body) thrives on food and nourishment and is said to be the most vulnerable of the koshas.  Any inadequacies at this level percolate through the various aspects of development. Thus, it is of prime importance to meticulously care for the nutrition needs of young children, for them to blossom completely at all other levels. Well begun is half done!
